Publishing your doctoral MBA dissertation can be very effective for the aspiring educator.

When go through the blood, sweat, and tears of organizing your thoughts, research, and argument for your dissertation you are at your prime. This is a work that has been well thought out, sources double checked, and all T’s crossed. This is the kind of work that gives way to advancements in the world across the board.

It reminds me of the movie, “A Beautiful Mind”. Russell Crow and his friends in the movie thought long and hard about what they would develop as their theory. This theory that is developed many times, such as in the movie ends up becoming the driving force of a person’s life. The work is many times the best possible work of the student that it becomes useful to the world at large such as in the case of this movie. We at our publishing company have been approached by doctoral students wanting to publish their work and I tell you these are the deepest and best books that we have seen.

If you have a work such as this that you have done or you are presently working on an important work such as this then you should definitely consider publishing your work and promoting it. Becoming an author to some people remains to be the mystical or far out thing. When you have a written work or an important message to deliver then you should consider ways to distribute that message to the market that it concerns. Publishing your message or work is an easy way to put your theory to work.

I encourage you to become an author because the world needs development in our thinking which influences development in our actions, systems, and organizations. The more powerful messages we can get out to the world, the more growth and development we will see in the world.

Distance learning gives you the great benefit to self-pace learning at your convenient time and at your convenient place. Unlike campus-based studies, distance learning does not require your presence in the classroom. You need not join any educational institute that requires you to attend every lecture or seminar and you still get qualification certificates approved by education boards. You can search for institutes offering PhD programs on the Internet, magazines and even in local newspapers. You need to look for a well-established government-approved institute.

All reputed educational institutes having distance learning facility are extremely helpful for those who want to study but don’t have time to attend class regularly physically. There could be many reasons for that, such as jobs, businesses, disabilities and more commonly, cutting down the cost of the course such as the cost of accommodation, food and transportation. Another reason to go for distance learning PhD programs include the perceived quality of the program, prerequisites and delivery format of study material and different assignments.

The doctorate degree is the highest degree in the world that is awarded after verifying a student’s caliber and mastery over particular subject. The degree makes a person eligible to enter into the research field.

The creative research during the studies is called as the doctoral thesis dissertation. Online PhD courses are generally more professional as compared to the academic programs offered by different universities.

Many universities offer custom designed PhD programs in which, admission is given based on personal educational record with a bachelor and master’s degree. There are a lot of considerations to pass through when one wants an admission for PhD offering institutes. Once a candidate meets all requirements, fees are paid to the institute (online or any other option) and the study material is sent through post. There are institutes, which provide study material online that needed to be downloaded from the Internet. Many PhD programs include audio-visual presentations in their study-materials.

Tests, exams and other communications are conducted through the Internet or via post. You are given a registration number that is to be entered each time you submit an assignment or appear for exams. You can also submit your dissertation and other course-related work online directly to the institute.

There are many subjects on which PhD programs are offered. Some of the most famous subjects include psychology, medicine, business management, mathematics, astronomy and many more. Once a candidate is awarded with the PhD degree, it makes a lot of difference in his or her career. The remunerations and designations of people completing their doctorates are markedly higher than those in other professions.

And in the final run, it does not really matter if the PhD courses have been done in the classroom or through distance learning.

Thesis writing is backbreaking work. It demands an enormous amount of the writer’s research and composition efforts. Then again, besides the academic expertise, this form of schoolwork also requires certain virtues to function and end efficiently. Without such values, all supposed skills fly out the window.

Here are these 4 must-have virtues all thesis writers should absorb for an easier journey to dissertation writing:

Patient

In thesis writing, patience is one virtue that should be constantly instilled in every writer. Without a doubt, there will be numerous problems along the way, which each author should then have enough forbearance to handle.

Patience is needed in thinking of the proper thesis statement to jumpstart the paper. It is needed in finding possible resources, as well as in sorting out the relevant data from the irrelevant ones. The virtue of patience is even necessary when the writer stumbles into a roadblock and can’t find the words for the paper.

Focused

With such an extensive project where the student calls all the shots, it is easy to get sidetracked by the onslaught of details and information. Thus, the student should be focused and loyal enough to stick to the developed thesis statement until the end. It’s never a good thing to change topics in the middle of the thesis year, as it disrupts everything that has been gathered as well as break the momentum of the writer.

Driven

The student needs to have the drive to work despite temptations. One great enticement is the lure of a seemingly long period of thesis duty, specifically lasting for about two semesters or one schoolyear. It may appear like a long enough period to slack off for a couple of months. But take it from the many students who fell into the same trap: one year is actually short when undergoing thesis writing responsibilities.

Time moves constantly. It even flies very fast from the middle to end of the year when additional thesis duties keeps on (magically) cropping up.

For that, the student needs to be driven enough to keep on working all throughout the year. It may appear that the writer has all the time in the world, but procrastination quickly eats away time. So, keep researching, then keep writing. That should be the drive of every thesis writer.

Meticulous

This is one virtue that every writer should soak up in order to achieve an exceptional thesis paper. Every data included in the paper is important, and so, the writer needs to be detail-oriented enough to include only the most applicable of facts. Indeed, one inaccurate detail could break the credibility of the thesis paper, and break the student’s academic marks in the process.

With all these considered, it is safe to assert that efficient thesis writing calls for a combination of creative skills and personal values. Although said virtues are unable to promise a flawless and problem-free thesis paper, it nevertheless assures a more livable and breathable working condition for the writer.

The Standard Five-Paragraph Essay

When writing your causal relation composition, you need not deviate from the usual five-paragraph format. As with any other paper, you can start with an introduction that presents a short background and the thesis statement.

Then you follow up with the main body that you can divide into three parts (the first body paragraph, the second body paragraph and the third body paragraph). Then end your essay with a conclusion that summarizes the main points tackled.

Introduction

As already mentioned above, this part should reflect the thesis statement you are working on as well as a backgrounder that gives the reader an overview of what the topic is all about. An effective introduction lays out all the issues in a short but sweeping paragraph.

Even at this early part, the reader should already have a good idea of what the MA dissertation is aimed at.

The Cause (first body paragraph)

When writing your composition, you must differentiate the factors that make up the causes from those that constitute the effects. You then tackle on the former in the first paragraph.

You can start your discussion by identifying the factors you have identified as constituents of ‘the cause/s’.

You then give a graphic description of the specific situations or conditions. For a more in-depth treatment of the subject matter, you can illustrate how these conditions affect other related situations.

The Effect (second body paragraph)

This is where you lay out the effects of the given causal conditions. You begin by clearly establishing or defining the effects. You then give a thorough explanation of why such effects have arisen. Again, a graphical description of specific events is required.

The Cause and Effect Relationship (third body paragraph)

The third body paragraph is where you lay down the implications of the causal relations you have defined.

You can talk about the significance of your analysis and how it might affect certain situations or people.

It would be further effective to present some recommended mode of actions in response to the analysis you have laid out.

Conclusion

Your conclusion must not only be a summary of the main points in your composition. It must be your important instrument in leaving a mark among readers.

This mark should affect or even change the prevailing perception of the reader on the issue under study and leave an appeal for specific courses of action as a response to the results of the analysis.

The strategy allows you to fit the whole process into the traditional five-paragraph format. Many people claim that this traditional format is already obsolete and should no longer be used.

This is not always the case. What is important is that you adjust to the specific requirements of the type of essay you are making. Here, you have successfully created congruence between the special features of a cause and effect essay with that of the traditional five-paragraph composition.

You are far more likely to successfully write and publish your book if you follow these tips before you [start writing] write a single chapter.

1. Write your print or eBook’s working title.

Knowing your book title helps you focus and answer the readers’ number one question about your book’s topic. Some non-fiction needs subtitles as well. It’s better to be clear than clever, but the ultimate winning combination is clear and clever. Which titles grab you? “Passion At Any Age: Twelve Ways to Unleash It,” “Self-Promotion for the Creative Person.

” or “Quadruple your Book’s Online Sales in Four Months.” Your title is the number one “Essential 7 Hot-Selling Point” of your book.

2. Write your book’s thesis.

A dissertation editing reflects the number one benefit of your book. It answers your reader’s question, “How will this book solve my challenge of…?” Knowing the thesis before you write the book keeps you on track so you write focused, compelling copy that is easy to read. All chapters should support your book’s thesis. For “10 Non-Techie Ways to Market your Book Online,” the thesis is: “No spam ways to quadruple book sales in four months.” A best title often includes your thesis.

3. Test your book’s significance.

While most writers fear their book won’t sell, your book is significant if it has these elements: It presents useful information. It has the potential to positively affect people’s lives. It’s lively, humorous. It helps answer important reader questions. It creates a deeper understanding of human nature. If your book has only two elements, it will be worth writing.

With three or more, it’s a potential great seller. Make your book a priority so you can express your mission helping others to a better life, and at the same time make a consistent lifelong income.

4. Pinpoint your preferred audience.

When you give your book an angle, it sells much better. No, not everyone will want to read your book. When you write for one audience at a time, each story, tip, or how to’s pack in so much more power. Writing for the general audience is all right if you are already famous–think of the Chicken Soup series.

Choose and post your audience’s picture and profile right in front of you as you write.

Remember to multiply sales exponentially, think of the small business audience on the net, ready and willing to buy either your print or eBook now. Knowing your audience before you write will make each chapter, line, or paragraph be organized, compelling and easy to read. This idea transfers well to Web sites, seminars, teleclasses, and ecommerce too.

Create an audience profile. How old are your prospective readers? Male? Female? Are they interested in personal growth, science fiction, mystery, how-to books? What challenges do they face? Are they business people? What magazines and Web sites do they like? Are they Internet savvy? What causes do they support? Will they be willing to spend on your book? Where will they go to buy it? (not the brick and mortar book store)

5. Know your book’s 30-60 second “tell and sell” before your write it.

Like a billboard, this 2-3 sentence blurb will be so useful to you when you meet people at a networking meeting or in the elevator, and have only a few minutes to talk about your book.

Don’t go on and one in generalities. Give your potential reader a reason to buy. . It’s the hook, not the book.

First, write down your title. Second, write down your preferred audience. Third, list your book’s top three benefits. Last, compare your book with a famous author is your field. “Passion at Any Age” is the “Artists Way” for seniors or “Write your Print and eBook at the Same Time” starts where Dan Poynter left off with the how to’s to put a chapter together so it sells, and pre-marketing tips in the “Essential Hot-Selling Points.”

Write and practice this short statement. Be willing to edit so it’s laser fresh–maybe 5-15 times.

One of the greatest obstacles many writers face when attempting to start a new project is how to format the article. I know I used to spend a great deal of my preparation and brainstorming time trying to sort out the answer to that very question. Similarly many of the writers that I work with as a writing instructor and consultant were struggling with the same issue. If you are reading this article then probably you have as well.

Writing a short article can be even more challenging because you need to stay focused and organized, however writing a short article really can be very easy if you work with a simple structure. In fact it only involves three steps:

Step One: Write a thesis statement

I know you just had an ugly flashback to freshman composition class and I apologize for springing it on you like that, but really your English teacher did know what he or she was talking about when they insisted you have a thesis sentence for your essays. A thesis is key to all successful essays and articles because it is the heart of your paper. It is simply the main point you are trying to make with your article. As the central or controlling idea, your thesis statement holds the article together. Your thesis statement is a promise to your reader — “I am going to say this”. If you do not have a strong thesis you run the risk of confusing your reader or even losing the reader entirely.

In addition, your dissertation help you as a writer because your thesis introduces your subject and what you have to say about it. Simply brainstorming a thesis can get you rolling and for short essays and articles that momentum can often be enough to carry you through.

However if you take your thesis statement to the next level it can be an even greater asset.

A simple thesis is short and to the point, for example: Writing an article using the three-step process is easy. However, an expanded thesis includes not only the position statement but also some supporting reasons (I recommend using at least three) to shore up that position. So an expanded thesis becomes:

Writing an article using the three-step process is easy because it offers a format and organization that is flexible and simple, it can be adapted to a wide variety of situations and topics, and it is a proven formula.

This step is the most important of the three and key to your success. Don’t forget a good thesis defines the purpose of the article and outlines/introduces the message the writer wants to send about the subject; makes a clear point that is supported by the body of the article; and uses specific, concrete language.

Step Two: Frame Your Article

When builders “frame” a house they build a structure that will give it support, shape and a framework for outer coverings. This is essentially what you will do during this step. You have begun the process by shaping your thesis statement but now you need to add some notes on how you will expand the three supporting points you outlined in the second part of your thesis. This step does not need to take very long although time spent here may well save you time on step three.

Step Three: Write Your Article

You have now laid the foundation to quickly and easily write a short article following the keyhole strategy:

Your goal is to write a simple five-paragraph article following this structure:

~ 1st paragraph—Introduction including thesis

~ 2nd paragraph—Body-Topic/supporting point 1

~ 3rd paragraph—Body-Topic/supporting point 2

~ 4th paragraph—Body-Topic/supporting point 3

~ 5th paragraph—Conclusion

Each of the three body paragraphs should expand on the points you identify in your thesis using the ideas and examples you brainstormed during step two.

This simple strategy won’t be likely to win you any writing prizes but it should enable you to quickly write a short focused informational article that you can use for many of your business needs. The optimal length for many internet articles is 450 words and this structure should help you achieve that with ease.

Usually the child start its education at the age of 3-4 years and spend more than two decades before he can expect to acquire the highest degree recognized in the academic word i.e. PhD or Doctor of Philosophy. In between he passes to different stages like Primary, Secondary, Intermediate Graduation and Post-graduation. As one goes higher in education in the academic ladder, his area of specification becomes smaller. While in the primarily level, one studies “something of everything”, at the higher level one learns “everything of something”.

The complexity of the knowledge evolves at every level and it would be difficult or even impossible to understand the work of a specialist unless one’s own education is quite close to it. If you want to understand a PhD dissertation of a Engineer, you need to have a sufficiently higher qualification in the field of the same branch of engineering. A mechanical engineer cannot understand the thesis on Information Systems and vise-versa. It is almost impossible for a Engineering PhD scholar to understand anything of the PhD thesis of a medicine expert.

However, in this era of specialization, there are certain areas where every one seems to believe that even an uneducated person can understand even the highest knowledge. One of such area is the area of spirituality and religion. Everyone seems to know God, spirituality and religion. The Popes and Priests also claim the realization of God to be so simple and easy that it can be acquired merely by following certain rituals or Pilgrimage. In Hinduism, some specialists and priests claim to achieve salvation for yourself , by uttering the mantras on your behalf, even if you can’t understand a single word of it or even priests do not understand any meaning of it.

Words Vs Meaning

Interestingly, all over the world, a child is introduced into education by the help of symbols.

He is tough “A for Apple”, “B for Bat” etc. He sees the photograph of Apples opposite the word A and understands that A is same as Apple. After understanding the alphabet and words, he understands the association of words to form sentences to express his thoughts.

Every person uses the same alphabets, which are only 26 in numbers in English, to express almost every concept of this world. The same alphabets and words are used in a class 1 level book and in a PhD dissertation. What makes the difference is the complexity of the meaning of the word and the evolution of the mind of the student. As a student learns more and more, his mind gets evolved and he can understand more and more complex ideas and concept in his field of education.

The meaning of a given word, therefore, changes almost continuously in the life of a person even when its form (words) remains same. Form example, the meaning of the concepts represented by the words God, religion, spirit, justice, equality etc represents different meaning to different people. A great Indian philosopher Swami Vivekananda said,

It is hard to understand everything at once. The explanation of everything is after all in yourself. No one is really taught by another; each one us has to teach himself. The external teacher offers only the suggestion which rouses the internal teacher to work to understand things.

Rituals and Spirituality

Most of the people identifies religions with rituals and external manifestations like dressing, temples, pilgrimage etc. Every religion provides certain rituals like prayers, fasting, festivals, places of worship, mythologies which people have to follow to become part of that religion. If you are Hindu, but don’t go to temple and do not prey to God, you are as good as an atheist. Same is true with other religions like Islam, Buddhism or Christianity.

Yet rituals are not the goal of any religion. It is like the alphabets of any language which are necessary for understanding the complex concepts and ideas that are created in the language. No one can read anything in a language if he is not familiar with the alphabets.

Thus the knowledge of alphabets and words are not the end by itself but the essential means to achieve the higher goals.

In the same way, all the rituals are designed so that a man can rise above the plane of matter to realize the spiritual reality of the world that is otherwise unknown to mind and senses. When you prey to God, who is not seen by the eyes of the senses, nor understood by the reason of the mind, you are invoking the higher power of the spiritual self. Thus the rituals often look extremely stupid to a person who has yet to evolve from the physical plane. Yet this stupidity is same as the stupidity which may seems in teaching the child “A for Apple”. However, these prayers, when practiced over a period of time with the faith and believe, gradually invoke the spiritual self of the person which is hidden behind the cover of senses and mind.

All religions believe that soul or spirit is the source of all beings. Hence body and the mind are the effect of the soul. The individual soul itself is the manifestation of the universal Soul or Spirit which is also understood as God. Thus it is not possible for the eyes of the senses and the mind to grasp the soul and spirit. Only when a person is able to rise above the senses and the mind, can he hope to see the world through the eyes of the spirit or soul.

Mythologies and scriptures too are other means to help spiritual evolution of the person.

Mythologies are full with the stories of miracles which are not to be understood literally just like a fiction is not to be understood scientifically or logically. What is more important in the mythologies is the “spirit” of the mythology which is hidden in the stories of these mythologies or the scriptures. Just like a fiction invoke emotions in the man, in the same way scriptures and mythologies tend to invoke spirituality in the human beings.

Spiritual Evolution of Man

Just like education is divided into different levels like Primary, Secondary, Graduation and then Doctorate, same is true in respect of the evolution of human beings which evolves or grows in the stages of body, mind, Soul and Spirit. One can never reach to the Spiritual plane of evolution unless he has evolved from the three lower states of life.

The secret of evolution lies in the practice and internalization. One has to follow the standard drill of rituals so long that it has become internalized in you. Once you have internalized this part of the knowledge, it has become part of your spirit and you have evolved past that stage of life. This stage is like a minimum qualification that makes you ready to learn higher knowledge in life.

Thus man can not become spiritual unless he has been able to rise above body and matter. One who is not evolved from the physical plane can never understand any pleasure except that is related to senses, which can only be acquired with money and wealth. A man who can not leave the temptation of body and money can never become spiritual. Jesus rightly said, (Mathew 19: 23,24)

“I tell you the truth. It is hard for a rich man to enter the Kingdome of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eyes of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

Yet people try to acquire heaven without sacrificing the material possessions. Such accomplishment is possible when seen from the eyes of the body and mind but impossible when seen from the spiritual eyes.

Jesus explained this simple truth (Matthew 6:24) in the following words

“No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You can not serve both God and Money.”

Thus spirituality is impossible to be understood except when you have evolved yourself to the level of spirit which lies beyond the stage of body, mind and intelligence. This is a long process and one has to internalize or master the knowledge that has been acquired at the lower stage.

Why Religions are Losing Faith?

What would be the value of PhD if a University decides to give it to a child with barely five year of education without any research work or study. You join the university and next day you are awarded a PhD. No doubt, such university would become extremely popular as almost every person can acquire PhD now. But PhD degree is not same as the piece of paper on which it is printed but the knowledge that is acquired in the process of doing doctorate.

This is precisely the mistake, which has been made by the religious leaders who seems to have simplified religion and spirituality to such an extent that it has become nothing more than the rituals. People expect to understand religion within days of practicing the rituals. Yet what they understand is only the words of the religion and not the meaning of it which can come only when the person has evolved into the stage of spirit which needs long years of practice and learning. Einstein has rightly said, “Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.”

Mr. Awdhesh K Singh is an Engineer by education and philosopher by passion. He has published several papers in International Journals and Conferences on the subject of E-governance, Artificial Intelligence , Fuzzy Logic and Expert Systems .

He is the founding member of The Aatmic Science Foundation, (The Science of Soul Foundation). His interest is in creating synthesis between all religions and sciences for the benefit of the mankind.

Believe it or not, it’s faster to write a good paper than it is to write a bad one! What you want to do is avoid over-researching, over-writing, and over-editing. All you need is a very simple step by step process to keep you from getting off track.

Step one: Always begin by carefully reviewing your teacher’s instructions regarding topic, resources, and style (such as MLA).

Step two: Choose a thesis statement (sometimes called a topic sentence). In a nutshell, this is a single sentence that describes what you are trying to tell your audience. It is the main point you are trying to make. Often your dissertation papers statement will be an opinion. Don’t make it complex. What do you want to say? An example of a thesis statement is, “Springfield is a good city.”

Step three: Quickly choose suitable resources. Check with your instructor’s specifications for your paper, but typically a five hundred word paper will need to cite three printed sources. Do not select more than required and come home with a stack of thick books. As you browse in the library, look only for sources which you can quote to defend your thesis statement. An interesting source on the same topic, but that does not defend your statement, will not help you and will waste your time.

In a five hundred word paper, you will be looking for three points to defend your dissertation statement. For example for the above thesis your defending points could be: 1) Springfield has a good climate, 2) Springfield has a variety of entertainment, 3) The people of Springfield are nice. It may be that Springfield also has good employment and many other qualities, but in a five hundred word paper there is usually not enough room for more than three defending points.

You find your points as you are browsing in the library for resources. As soon as you find something that can defend your statement, insert a bookmark to mark the page. This step of your paper should take from five to twenty minutes.

Step four: Organize your paper as follows: You will have five paragraphs, on rare occasion, six. In the first paragraph you will write your thesis statement and explain what you are going to say in your paper. Your next paragraphs will each make one point that defends your thesis statement. Each paragraph will also have at least one reference to a source that defends your point. You might include quotations from your source, as it relates to the point in that paragraph. The last paragraph in your paper is a summary and restates or rephrases your thesis, and makes mention of the three defending points. In brief: 1) Tell them what you’re going to say, 2-4) say it in detail, 5) tell them what you just said. Writing your paper need not take more than an hour.

Step five: Write your resources page according to MLA style or as otherwise required by your teacher. Read your paper for errors and make corrections, and you are done. With practice, you can research and write a good paper from beginning to end in two hours. Good luck!
